No army can stop an idea whose time has come, as Victor Hugo once claimed. For Hugo's compatriot and Gaffer-Records-boss Frank Garcia, that idea is free jazz . Garcia's imprint doesn't streamline its thoughts into something instantly recognisable, quickly categorisable and easily digestible. Rather, it serves as a high-pressure melting pot filled to the point of explosion with intriguing ideas, explorative techniques and inventive forms. It will knock you out and blow you away, it will irritate and confuse you, it will make you want to shut your ears, but force you to listen. It is the sound of now, right now, and no army in the world can stop it.
