Kenneth Kirschner is a composer and sound artist from Brooklyn, New York. His oeuvre, which he describes as 'being about recording', uses classically-tinged acoustic sources, electronically processed sounds and silence.
MM/DD/YY is the biggest overview of his work so far and part of the Imperfect Forms multimedia project. Spreading across three volumes, it traces his footprints as an artist from 1999-2014, featuring drone/ambient pieces next to rhythmically-agitated tracks, neoclassical compositions and the quiet, slow-paced grand scale works he has become known for.
Whereas the second and third installment were personally selected by the composer, volume 1 contains a selection by tokafi's Tobias Fischer focusing on shorter, more accessible pieces offering a new perspective on Kirschner's approach.

This truly beautiful album feels like a hidden gem of texture, tones and of course, patience. Upon the first listen I instantly fell in love with it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys untethered music that flows with its own current. anotherlowresident

It's getting near impossible to pick favourites from Jason Corder's expansive catalogue,( there are SO many gems!) - but this offering approaches the finest moments of our 20th+ century avantgarde- more akin to works like Part, Ligeti, Reich- we came up with the phrase "Chamber Ambient" just for this work - ( !! ) -a sonic experience not to be missed. -ss/tm/am editions vaché
